Snow Crest Inn Dharamsala Reservations kangra_valley_rainbow

Dharamsala Weather
While the heat in much of India can be intense, the cooler temperatures of the hill regions in the foothills of the Himalayas offer a refreshing and welcome change.

Winter snow begins falling in the higher elevations above Dharamsala by November or December. By January. and February, there is usually snow on the ground at Mcleodganj and Naddi, so warm clothing is required.

Spring/Summer/Pre-Monsoon weather is pleasant and mild in March and April, but be prepared for chilly nights. By May and June the days are warmer and becoming hot in lower Dharamsala. Spring and fall weather are ideal for trekking.

Summer Monsoon Rains arrive in July, but sometimes, as early as June, lasting through August and mid September.

Dharamsala often receives the highest total rainfall in all of Himachal Pradesh, India, so don't forget your umbrella!

Post Monsoon Season, the fall months of September, October, and November bring cooler drier weather, with warm days and progressively cooler nights.
