Dharamsala Weather
Weather in February

Feb 11, 2010 - More Snowfall in Naddi!

More snowfall in Naddi, upper Dharamsala this morning, up to about 3 feet deep outside Snow Crest Inn. The sky is currently overcast.

Gaggal Airport is open, and there is no snow in lower Dharamsala, so it is easy to get there.

However, the road is closed beyond the Cantt area of upper Dharamsala. This is the location of St John's Church in the Wilderness and the Tibetan Children's Village.

Only those who are able to make a 10 to 15 walk uphill in the snow should come to Snow Crest Inn at this time.

Otherwise, its better to wait for the roads to open with better and safer driving conditions. Already there have been several weather related accidents.

Electricity is currently out all over upper Dharamsala with the expectation that service will be restored by this evening, but no guarantee.

If you decide to come anyway, please call ahead for the current driving conditions, current heat and electricity status, and room availability.

Feb 8, 2010 - Fresh Snowfall in Naddi, Dharamsala!

Residents of Naddi, Mcleodganj, and all of upper Dharamsala awoke this morning to fresh snowfall just outside their windows.

Roads are currently closed due the heavy snowfall, but are expected to open again within 10 days.

Feb 6 - 9, 2010 Himachal Pradesh: Heavy Rain, Snow, & Hailstorms Forecast

Heavy rain, snow, and hail are forecast for Himachal Pradesh over the weekend from February 6 to 9.

Tourists are advised not to travel to high altitudes or remote areas of the state due to the expected heavy snowfall.

The expected storms are good news for farmers as the region has experienced a prolonged dry spell with January temperatures at their warmest in 6 years.

January 2010 - Fresh Snow on the Himalayan Dhauladhar Mountains

Fresh snow fell overnight on the mountains above Naddi and Mcleodganj in upper Dharamsala.

Early morning conditions are cloudy and overcast, so the mountains are currently obscured.

More rain is forecast for the area tonight, which means more snow on the Dhauladhars, and the potential for snow in Naddi.
